Since May 2025, 168 hubs funded under the Digital Europe Programme have formed part of the EDIH Network, originating from all EU Member States as well as Albania, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine. The impact of the network continues to grow through the increased provision of services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public sector organisations (PSOs).

Digital transformation services provided to SMEs and PSOs

The Digital Maturity Assessment Tool (DMAT) is widely adopted within the EDIH Network, and a key resource for evaluating digital capabilities across European SMEs and PSOs. As of mid-May 2025, almost 16,000 assessments have been performed, over 14,500 on SMEs and more than1,300 on PSOs.

The number of services delivered by the network is steadily expanding. To date, EDIHs have provided over 44,000 services, with SMEs receiving 87% of this support, and PSOs accounting for the remaining 13%. In terms of unique entities served, the corresponding figures are almost 21,500 SMEs and 2,600 PSOs.

Achievements of the EDIHs: 435 badges awarded

The EDIH Network’s Badge Programme was launched in December 2023, acknowledging the work performed by the network’s members across five different categories. By now, a total of 435 badges have been awarded to 140 EDIHs, underlining noteworthy achievements in the following categories:

  • 84 badges in ‘Support for Investment’,
  • 79 badges in ‘Test Before Invest’
  • 78 badges in ‘Training and Skills Development’,
  • 64 badges in ‘Networking and Innovation Ecosystems’,
  • 130 badges in the ‘Digital Maturity Assessments (DMAs)’.

This programme both recognises the outstanding work of EDIHs and encourages hubs across Europe to continue striving for excellence in providing high-quality digital services.

Continued interest in the Digital Speed Test online tool

With the Digital Speed Test (DST), companies and PSOs have access to an online tool to make a quick evaluation of their digital capabilities, providing guidance related to their digital transformation efforts. Almost 1,100 DSTs were performed between January 2024 and May 2025. The test has been used by organisations from many different sectors, particularly education, public administration, healthcare, and manufacturing, which have the highest number of tests.
